The Last Blush
9th of Jully 2008, Club Toucan Bluzz & Rock in Sofia Student’s Town, some nasty nasty things are happening after 23h o’clock… Blush like it’s your fuckin last time!
Yesterday an pretty intriguing event of the Bulgarian sub-culture passed a bit unnoticed by the general public (busy to bake under the sun and drink teqiula in Sozopol, e.g.)… Two bands, ADIBAS and BLUSH, with nothing in common, but their bass player, gathered friends and fans for a “sitting party” to say so long (…and thanks for all the fish!) to one of them… Blush.
Internally things with Blush have not been pretty pink and shiny from quite some time and they have come to the point to make a desicion. Besides the wonderfull, still unrecorded songs, they have created together, they are splitting up… Yesterday was their officially last show together. Band members explain the split as “different music tastes, leading to uncompatibility”. Well, they really do seem like having a friendly brake-up with no hard feelings, but again it is a pitty to hear it, as they made such a good sound together!

Well, we (meaning ME and other people that I drink beer with; understand general society :)) really hope they will be able to record some of their stuff to be left for the generations ahead before they leave that project totally behind them! :) Blush have already published a song of their own (Play) in the compilation “Credit To The Nation”, created by Club Stroeja. More on Blush, including tracks and a live video, you can find on their Official MySpace.
Really fresh surprise was the band ADIBAS, which I should admit, I saw and heard for very first time. Obviously inspired by the world of advertising, brands, media etc., the main focus of Adibas’ songs are popular “creations” of their time, transformed into hillarious punk parodies. The humor in their entire permormance and the witty lyrics are more then a smart move for them and I truelly believe in their glamourous punk future! :) More on them, including working versions of their songs and some live videos, I especially recommend their punkish version of the massive super hit “Ken Lee”, you can of course find on their MySpace Profile.
